The My Week With Marilyn star and her Muppets man had reportedly moved in together in an apartment in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, which was flooded and devastated by the superstorm on Oct. 29. But the Cougar Town actress confirms that the couple (and Williams' daughter Matilda) is safe and sound.
"I talked to her today and they were spared. Everything is fine," Williams' bestie Philipps told E! News Saturday night at the baby2baby gala in Los Angeles.
Williams and Segel, both 32, and young Matilda started living in a renovated 19th-century coffee warehouse in Red Hook a few months ago.
"She is renting it, but he stays there," a source told People.
The source added that Segel is head over heels about Williams. "It's like the first girl he's ever been this way with," the source said.
Philipps, who is responsible for introducing her best friend and Dawson's Creek costar Williams to her former Freaks and Geeks costar Segel years ago, confirmed that Williams has survived the superstorm's devastation to the North East.
"Everyone is safe," she said. "Everything's okay."
