It looks like it might be "game over" for Alex Rodriguez and Cameron Diaz. Us Weekly is reporting that the Bad Teacher actress and the Yankees slugger have called it quits after more than a year of dating. According to the magazine, Diaz, 39, and Rodriguez, 36, are too dedicated to their professional lives to make room for romance.
"She's very busy with her career," claims Us Weekly's source. "And he's had injuries and wants to focus on his game. They're dedicated professionals."
Diaz and A-Rod were first linked together in April 2010, when they were spotted on a dinner date -- and then paparazzi caught her leaving his New York City apartment with an overnight bag. (Busted!) Though the pair rarely talked to the press about their relationship, they weren't shy with the PDA or the sexy beach vacations. Diaz, however, has always been clear on her intention to keep her bachelorette status -- telling Maxim in June that marriage is a "dying institution."
"I think we have to make our own rules," said the actress. "I don't think we should live our lives in relationships based off old traditions that don't suit our world any longer."
So has she moved on from her baseball-playing beau? Not everyone seems to think so; just last week, Splash News reported that Rodriguez purchased a $24 million dollar mansion in Miami Beach, reportedly to share with Diaz. And if reports of the split are false, it wouldn't be the first time: The couple was pursued by breakup rumors back in June, which Diaz dismissed as "gossip." You know what they say, tabloid media: three strikes, you're out!
