On the new season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, we'll be getting an inside look at the split between Camille Grammer and her ex-husband, Frasier star Kelsey Grammer. But this wasn't exactly how Camille thought her first season as a reality star was going to pan out.
As the show filmed in July, Kelsey suddenly filed for divorce from Camille after 13 years of marriage and soon after stepped out with his new girlfriend Kayte Walsh (who sadly miscarried their child in September). Camille says that she believes that her ex worked some magic to get her on the new Bravo series, so he could carry on with his mistress.
"Looking back, maybe he wanted to keep me preoccupied in California while he was off having his affair in New York," Camille told The New York Post. "I really didn't want to do the show. I think it was more Kelsey's agenda. I was very reluctant, because I am a very private person."
But Camille had no choice, as she had already committed to the reality show, and she was forced to deal with the drama that (naturally) came along with being a Housewife, in addition to her personal struggles.
"Those times were difficult because my marriage was falling apart and I had to deal with the cattiness of the women on the show," Camille said.
And she still harbors plenty of negative feelings for her ex.
"I don't respect what he did to me and my family," she said. "I am not happy with the way it went down. When I signed on, I didn't think I would be going through a divorce in the middle of shooting a reality show."
Still, she hopes one day they will have an amicable relationship.
"He was my best friend," Camille said. "I hope when the dust settles we can remain friends. I also would like to continue to work with my husband. I think he is a very talented man."
