At age 25, Carey Mulligan has already been nominated for an Oscar, is starring in the highly anticipated Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, and is dating Shia LaBeouf -- but it seems she's still not recognizable enough to snag a guest spot on TV's hottest show!

"I want to be in Glee," Mulligan says in the new issue of Vogue (on sale Sept. 14). "But I'm told I'm not famous enough to be a cameo."

There was no word on who exactly broke the bad news to the British beauty, and her rep wouldn't comment on her client's comments. And though the actress may be disappointed, she won't be going to any extremes to increase her fame. In fact, Mulligan seems determined to keep her personal life and her romance with her Wall Street costar LaBeouf as far from the paparazzi's flashing bulbs as possible.

"Posing on the red carpet feels like you're selling something that has nothing to do with you," she explains of the decision she and LaBeouf made not to accompany each other to movie premieres. "If you do it with someone else, it's like we're saying, 'Oh! We come as a pair! Would you like to buy both of us? We're available for weddings and Bar Mitzvahs.'"
