chime in nowAccording to the USDA, Hannaford Supermarkets (Scarborough, Maine) is recalling more than 29,000 pounds of Cargill ground beef that may contain salmonella. The 85-percent-lean beef was produced at the Cargill plant in Wyalusing, Pennsylvania and packaged for consumers for the Maine-based grocery chain. 33 people in Maine, ME, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Virginia and Vermont have been sickened from the meat. Consumers should check their ground beef for “use or sell by” dates between May 29 and June 16.
