Carrie Fisher wants to return to a galaxy far, far away... one in which she could proudly wear a metal bikini! The actress and author, 54, is the newest celebrity spokesperson for the weight-loss program Jenny Craig. Fisher says that her goal is to fit into Princess Leia's famously sexy Return of the Jedi outfit -- although she has no intention of wearing it again.
"I would like to have the option of getting back into the metal bikini," Fisher tells Us Magazine. "I won't be doing that, but I'd like the option."
Fisher says she was motivated to diet after her recent weight gain, which happened when she was touring with her one-woman show Wishful Drinking. The 5'1" actress says that she got up to 180 pounds, thanks to grazing on junk food and zero exercise.
"I'm fat. All the clothes in my closet belong to another chick," she jokes. "They have to make a new alphabet for my bra size."
Another source of diet motivation for Fisher: anonymous Internet comments about her appearance.
"I look on the Internet and they say, 'Whatever happened to Carrie Fisher? She used to be so hot and now she looks like Elton John,'' Fisher says, admitting, "I was really hurt."
Since starting the Jenny Craig plan in November, Fisher says that she has already lost twelve pounds -- and conquered her fear of the scale.
"I've jumped out of planes... I'm pretty fearless, but my scale is frightening," she says. "So I would go to the doctor and I would stand not facing it. That's an adult!"
We hope adult Carrie Fisher keeps in mind that she was still in her twenties when she donned that famous bikini (and she had to diet at the time to do it!). Even if she can't get her Princess Leia body back, she can still be proud to take control of her health -- and hopefully, she won't get any requests for "Rocket Man" anytime soon.
