Why Carrie Underwood Isn't Ready for Babies Yet

The newlywed says she and hubby Mike Fisher need to spend some time enjoying married life before they start a family

LeAnn Rimes' confessions about her affair with Eddie Cibrian seemed to receive all the buzz from Wednesday night's special, In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: All Access Nashville. But, it turns out, there was another notable story from one of country's hottest stars.

Carrie Underwood (who tied the knot with hockey star Mike Fisher in July) talked to Roberts about her life as a newlywed and their plans for starting a family.

Underwood, 27, told Roberts she and Fisher, 30, haven't had much time to enjoy wedded bliss. After their Tahitian honeymoon, he had to head back to Canada for work, while she hit the road for her tour. "It was like...'See ya, husband,'" the former American Idol champ explains. "(It) was very strange. I really don't feel like I've lived married life yet...It's great. Whatever it is. Whatever this is."

So, it seems the couple understandably wants some time together before having a baby. "We just want to be together and keep it as simple as possible," Underwood said during the special. "And I think a baby would just make things so complicated right now."

Luckily, after Underwood's tour wraps in December, she'll head back to Canada to see her hubby. "I'll be more home-based," she said. "So I'll get to spend, you know, my days with him. We'll be more like a normal couple."
