Sure, we've all angrily sang along to Carrie Underwood's country hit "Before He Cheats." But did you ever think about the song from the guy's perspective? Neither did we, until Underwood and Jimmy Kimmel premiered their hilarious duet "Before You Freak" on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night. Watch the video below!
The song, which Underwood billed as a sequel of sorts to "Before He Cheats," starts off following a fanny pack-sporting Kimmel as he's sipping virgin margaritas and singing Huey Lewis karaoke with some of the guys. He heads out of the club to go home, only to find an enraged Underwood smashing the living daylights out of his big red 4x4.
Underwood has plenty of reasons to be angry at her boyfriend in "Before He Cheats." According to the lyrics, she "Dug my keys into the side/of his pretty little souped-up 4 wheel drive/Carved my name into his leather seat./I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights/slashed a hole in all four tires" in the hope that maybe next time her d-bag boyfriend would "think before he cheats." But as we find out in "Before You Freak," that wasn't his car.
"Last night, I'm like what are the chances there will be two red pickups with the same cotton mustache?" Underwood sings in the new jingle.
Kimmel counters with the sound words of advice: "Maybe next time you should think before you freak."
The real moral of the story, however: No matter how mad you get at your boyfriend, nothing justifies tearing up his James Van Der Beek poster. That's just criminal.
