Fashion designer Derek Lam recently took a cue from American Idol, and is letting the style-savvy public (that's you!) vote on his designs. In collaboration with online giant eBay, Lam created 16 original spring and summer frocks -- from classic shirtdresses to black-tie gowns -- for us to browse, drool over and chose.
"For my Derek Lam + eBay collection, I designed an assortment of iconic dress styles that I envision for every woman's wardrobe -- with refined combinations of clean lines, effortless elegance and a playful touch of sensual femininity," said Lam, whose celeb clientele includes Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba, Rachel Bilson and Anne Hathaway. "I'm excited to find out which designs inspire shoppers' spring wardrobes."
Some standout looks include the Boho Dress in a floral georgette ($295) -- a favorite of mine and the voters so far!, the black Shift Dress with a peplum back ($175), the Sun Dress in deep blue cotton poplin ($195), the bright pink Tee Shirt Dress in silk poplin ($125) and the short Sun Dress in Indigo denim ($195).
The five winning pieces will be announced on March 1, and will be made available in May exclusively on eBay, ranging in price from $125 to $295 and in sizes 0–16.
