Catch Me If You Can (2002)

Frank Abagnale Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio) wasn't an airline pilot, doctor or lawyer -- but he convinced people he was, and that, along with his considerable skills in creating fake checks, netted him almost $3 million dollars. But Frank's lifestyle meant he was always on the run, trying to stay one step ahead of Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks), the FBI agent who had figured out that Frank was just a teenager when he began his string of ruses. Carl eventually cornered Frank and sent him to prison, but realizing Frank's check-forgery skills could come in handy in his bank fraud unit, Hanratty had Abagnale released and assigned to work for the FBI. In a happy ending to the fact-based movie, viewers learned that Frank Abagnale went on to -- legitimately -- earn millions of dollars as a consultant and forgery expert, and that he and the real-life agent portrayed as Carl Hanratty, ahem, forged, and maintained, a lifelong friendship.
