The Surprising Stuff That Michelle Obama & 9 Other Celebs Say About Getting Plastic Surgery

About to turn 50, the First Lady says she'd 'never say to never' to Botox, while other celebrities admit to just how far they've gone with plastic surgery

It doesn’t shock us to hear that Michelle Obama is confident in her appearance — she is, after all, one of the most influential fashion icons of our time. But, with her 50th birthday approaching this week, the first lady admits in an interview with People, as reported by TODAY.com, that she's not ruling out Botox or other plastic surgery in the future.

Mrs. Obama’s words got us thinking about other celebrities who have admitted to trying out plastic surgery. Here are ten stars not afraid to speak out on the topic.

Turning 50 on January 17th, Obama tells People that plastic surgery is about personal choice. “Women should have the freedom to do whatever they need to do to feel good about themselves,” she tells the magazine. “Right now, I don’t imagine that I would go that route, but I’ve also learned to never say never.”

The 41-year-old actress and new author of The Body Book told Entertainment Tonight that she has tried Botox in the past. “It changed my face in such a weird way that I was like, 'No, I don't want to [be] like [that]' … I'd rather see my face aging than a face that doesn't belong to me at all," she tells the show. One other procedure she's been vocal about opposing? Lasering off pubic hair

The 41-year-old Oscar winner revealed that she has “probably tried everything,” in the May 2013 issue of Harper’s Bazaar. "I would be scared to go under the knife, but you know, talk to me when I'm 50,” she told the magazine. “I'll try anything. Except I won't do Botox again, because I looked crazy. I looked like Joan Rivers!"

Cindy Crawford

The famous supermodel, 47, told Us Weekly in 2010, that her plastic surgery views have changed ith time. "When I was 30 I might have said, 'I'm just going to age in a way that honors time and is completely natural,' but I'm no longer so highbrow about it," she tells the magazine. "I've tried Botox but it scares me. Plastic surgery is really scary, but as long as you don't use these things to change your face, I think it's okay."

Ms. Curtis, 55, actress and author of several children’s books including I'm Gonna Like Me: Letting Off a Little Self-Esteem, told USA Today that although she has had “a little plastic surgery,” she’s done with it. “I've had a little lipo. I've had a little Botox,” she told the newspaper in 2002. “And you know what? None of it works. None of it."

The host, 44, revealed on her show, The Talk, earlier this year that she underwent plastic surgery early on in her career to make her eyes look bigger. "I don't like to live with regret,” she told her co-hosts during the show. “I did it, I moved on. No one's more proud of being Chinese than I am, and I have to live with the decisions I've made, every decision I've made — it got to where we are today."

The singer and actress, 67, has admitted undergoing several plastic surgery procedures, including breast implants, a nose job and a face lift. But having a rib removed? No, despite rumors, she says she’s never gone there. "I have become the plastic surgery poster girl. It bothers me sometimes, but not enough to hold back my progress," she has said.

In 2003, the Everybody Loves Raymond star, 55, told People she had undergone a breast reduction and a tummy tuck because of “vanity.” "I had four C-sections and my stomach looked like the map of the world,” she told the magazine. “My breasts were hanging down to here from breastfeeding those babies, and my nipples were like platters. I wanted to fit into the gowns that I finally got to wear."

Trista Sutter

The Bachelorette star, 41, posed in a bikini for Life & Style magazine after she had an eye lift and breast augmentation that took her from a small B-cup to a full C-cup. "I realized that the surgery was something I had to do for myself, just for my own self-confidence and to feel good again about being in bathing suits and being intimate with my husband," she told the magazine at the time. But she also told Good Morning America she was allergic to a post-surgery antibiotic. "I ended up with a full body rash that itched like crazy. I then was put on prednisone and got super-depressed and dealt with what felt like postpartum depression," she told the show. “Just know that there can be some complications going into it. Really research your surgeon and know what's going into it beforehand."
