Ray Charles

Though Ray Charles sang four songs on Sesame Street, including “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning” and “I Got a Song,” he is best known for his soulful renditions of “The Alphabet Song.” He first performed the ABCs in a 1977 episode for a small audience of clapping kids. In 2001, the legendary R&B singer returned to sing the tune one last time for a video that also featured Ellen DeGeneres, Susan Sarandon and Harry Belafonte.
