Actress Parker Posey has had to pull out of a recent project due to an illness. According to a statement released Aug. 26 by Playwrights Horizons, the Best in Show actress would not be able to perform in the new stage production of This "due to developing a case of Lyme disease." The disease is usually contracted by a tick bite and is highly treatable with antibiotics but, if it's not taken care of in a timely manner, could lead to heart, brain, and nerve damage.
