Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga isn't a recent convert to LGBT advocacy; like her song says, she was born that way. In fact, the pop diva acknowledges that much of her success is owed to her large and devoted gay fan base. She has repaid their loyalty with performances at the NewNowNext Awards and San Francisco Pride in 2008, attendance at the National Equality March in Washington, D.C. in 2009, and her famous meat dress at the 2010 MTV Awards, where she was accompanied by four gay Armed Forces members and expressed that the meat dress symbolized her position: "If we don't stand up for what we believe in and if we don't fight for our rights, pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our own bones." She continues to be an advocate for gay rights throughout the world, and most recently performed at Europride, an LGBT pride event in Rome, where she sang an acoustic version of "Born This Way" and described homosexuals as "revolutionaries of love."
