When you’re trying to get pregnant and those pee sticks show minus signs month after month, it can feel like you’re the only one who’s having fertility issues. But you’re not alone -- Hollywood royalty, supermodels, singers, Olympic athletes and more have all had problems in the baby-making department, too. Here, a roundup of celebrities who’ve dealt with infertility and the successful steps they’ve taken to finally become mamas.

Mariah Carey

After months of speculation from fans and gossip sites, Mariah Carey, 42, and her husband, Nick Cannon, finally came clean about two things in an interview with Us Weekly in November 2010: 1) They were pregnant 2) Getting pregnant wasn't a walk in the park. In 2008, the singer suffered a devastating miscarriage shortly after getting married, and as a result began taking progesterone, a hormone often prescribed to boost fertility and/or to support or maintain pregnancy in women susceptible to miscarriage. She combined the progesterone with “once-a-day” acupuncture treatments “all over her body” designed to increase fertility. Turns out, the combo worked wonders -- the couple’s expecting twins this spring!
