Rooney Mara may not be scary in real life, but her The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo persona was certainly a badass, butt-kicking heroine. Because of Mara's breakout role, her new costar Channing Tatum was a bit spooked to get to know her.
According to E! News, the 21 Jump Street star admits that he was nervous about playing Mara's husband in the upcoming drama The Bitter Pill.
"She's the most mousy and terrifying person I've ever met," Tatum, 32, told Marc Malkin at MTV's sneak peek of Magic Mike. "She's such a little introvert."
That doesn't exactly sound like high praise at first glance, but Malkin reports Tatum means it in the sweetest way possible. "She's also the sweetest little thing you've ever met," Tatum said.
In the Steven Soderbergh-directed The Bitter Pill, Mara, 27, plays a depressed young wife who isn't sure how to adjust when her stockbroker husband (played by Tatum) gets out of prison after serving a four-year sentence for a white-collar crime.
"Rooney can get this glazed over like look in her eyes that you're like, 'Oh, God -- I hope I never see that coming my way,'" Tatum said. "She's truly one of the most fabulous actresses. She has a skill set that I have never seen with the actresses I've worked with. Everybody's different and have the things that they're strong at, but she's special, for sure."
But the important question is whether there will be any sexy scenes between the two attractive leads.
"There will be hot scenes in The Bitter Pill -- during the end credits!" he joked.
