Channing Tatum just can't help being adorable. In a new Q&A with Cosmopolitan, the actor, who is expecting his first child with wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum, opens up about marriage and fame. As always, he's sweet, goofy and down-to-earth -- all good qualities in a celebrity or a dad.
So here are some new reasons why Channing will be the cutest dad in Hollywood.
1. He's already excited for Halloween candy.
"I'm a fat kid on the inside," he tells Cosmo. "I love food so much, and I fluctuate about 25 to 30 pounds between movies. I feel like I have to do a chess movie that requires very little movement at some point, just so I can eat pizza and play chess on the beach all day." Sounds family-friendly!
2. He's not afraid to get his hands dirty.
"If you start treating people in the real world like assistants, that's not a good look," says Tatum, who's not comfortable with the idea of being a larger-than-life celebrity. That should make diaper duty less painful.
3. He'll bring lots of awesome aunts and uncles to the table.
"It's embarrassing to tell you how much my friends make fun of me," says Tatum. "Seriously, when you have a doll made of your face, it's ridiculous how creative your friends can get…pictures, videos, little animated cartoons that they've made." Just wait until they're decorating onesies at the baby shower!
4. He and Jenna are in this together.
When asked how he keeps his eight-year relationship strong, Tatum has a concrete answer. "Jenna's and my thing is checking in with each other all the time, like 'On a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you love me right now?' And you gotta be honest, and you've got to want an honest answer," he explains. Parenthood puts a lot of stress on marriages, so keeping those lines of communication open makes a world of difference.
5. He'll teach his kid to have the right role models.
"I wouldn't mind being the male Jennifer Lawrence," says Tatum. "I think she's incredibly cool." Maybe baby's first word will be "Katniss."
