In 1990, then-engaged duo Charlie Sheen and Kelly Preston encountered a media frenzy when the young actress was shot while in Sheen's home. Now, more than 20 years later, Sheen is claiming that he had very little to do with the unfortunate incident.
While on his "My Violent Torpedo of Truth" tour stop in Vancouver Monday night, Sheen, 45, recounted that night's events. He says he wasn't even on the same floor as Preston when the gun went off. Sheen claims he was downstairs drinking coffee, when he heard a shot from upstairs. The next thing he remembers is seeing a naked Preston at the top of the stairs, covered in blood.
According to the former Two and Half Men star, Preston's shooting took place after she picked up a pair of his pants from the bathroom floor. Sheen says his gun was in the pocket, and it fell to the floor and went off, striking Preston in the arm.
The couple's engagement was called off soon after the shooting, and Sheen claims that, at the time, he knew he was going to be blamed for the accident.
Kelly Preston has yet to comment on Sheen's side of the story, but it's hard to believe anything the actor says these days. When he is talking in sentences that we can understand, his mind seems to be running 1,000 mph, with no clear destination in sight!
