Chest Pressure

“The feeling is usually described as pressure, classically like an elephant sitting on your chest, rather than sharp pain,” says Dr. Steinbaum. “Chest pain is the most common symptom of heart attack in both women and men, although not all women having heart attacks experience chest pain.” Chest pain that occurs in the days or weeks before a full artery blockage or heart attack is called “angina.” The pain may occur when you’re involved in an activity that you do routinely, and suddenly you find yourself unable to do it because of pressure in your chest.
