Chew on This: Little Aloutte's Wee Wooden Moustache Teether

Plastic teethers are easy to find, but those rubbery chew toys crowding your diaper bag and utensil drawer can potentially off-gas, emit toxins and pose choking hazards to baby.

That's why we love this find ($12) from Little Alouette--aside from the adorable moustache shape, it's handmade from locally sourced Ohio timber, so it's BPA- and PVC-free. It comes unfinished (we like the classic, natural look!), and you can pay a little extra for a certified organic flaxseed oil coating to preserve the wood from baby's saliva and skin oils.

A bonus: A percentage of every purchase is donated to Tree Pals, a Maryland-based outdoor education charity for youngsters.
