Every year I look forward to summer's light, airy dresses and fun, flirty tops. This year I can't wait to fill my closet with comfy-yet-chic maxi dresses. What I don't look forward to, however, is the dreaded (and inevitable) bra strap slip. You know what I am talking about: the way that a strap can peek out from under a tank or strappy dress, ruining the entire look!
Luckily, I found a solution. Recently, I came across a new product called Chic Shoulders ($5 for a set at Contemporary Couture). The product is a temporary lingerie tack—that little snap and ribbon that you'll sometimes find in pricier dresses or tops that help keep your straps neatly concealed and hidden.
All you do to use them is pull off the backing and stick it on to the inside of the strap on the dress or top where your bra strap slips out from under. Snap the ribbon around your bra strap and voilà! No more tacky undergarment slips. They also work well with racerbacks, boatnecks, Egyptian necklines and off-the-shoulder styles. Plus, Chic Shoulders stay stuck for 3 washes or can be removed easily after one. They'll definitely be a staple in my summer-dressing arsenal.
