Ready at: 2 months
It used to be that you had to wait until your baby was 6 months to offer him ibuprofen (the active ingredient in Advil and Motrin), but it is now approved for infants as young as 2 months. That’s a good thing: Ibuprofen acts faster, lasts longer, and controls fever better than acetaminophen (Tylenol). Talk to your pediatrician about which drug (or a combination of both) is best for your child’s symptoms, as well as dosages.
