Which Action Star Cried Watching 'Up' and 'The Notebook'?

Chris Pine is a sensitive hunk! The Star Trek: Into Darkness star showed his softer side in Men's Health, and we're swooning

If you ever go on a movie date with Chris Pine, be prepared for waterworks. The actor, who will reprise his role as Captain Kirk in Star Trek: Into Darkness, told Men's Health that he' s not afraid to shed a few tears.

"I cry all the time -- at work, at the shrink's, with my lady," said Pine, 32. "The Notebook killed me. Up destroyed me. Up was like the animated Amour."

This confirms our theory that you'd have to be made of wood not to cry at Up. Or maybe you'd just have to be less sensitive than a 6-foot-1, 170-pound action star.

Seriously, though, isn't it great that we live in a time when sexy leading men are allowed to cry at movies? It used to be that when action heroes showed vulnerability, it was always played off as a joke. Think Arnold Schwarzenegger teaching little kids in Kindergarten Cop, or Harrison Ford recoiling from snakes in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Nowadays, we prefer that our leading men show a little sensitivity. Take, for instance...

The Ryan Gosling "hey girl" meme...

Channing Tatum's dance moves...

Jason Segel playing with puppets...

Brad Pitt getting emotional about charity work...

... And of course, James Van Der Beek crying. (You know you still love him.)

What we're saying is that we prefer our celebrity crushes to have a softer side. Chris Pine is hot as the cocky Captain Kirk, and probably just as hot when he's going through a box of tissues during The Notebook!
