Looks like Miley and Demi aren't the only ones sick of people criticizing their bodies. Friends of Christina Aguilera say she is tired of hearing about her weight gain and is happy to rock her curves.
The curves in question were on full display at the American Music Awards when Xtina, 30, wore a tight silver mini dress that showed off ever contour of her body. The sparkling Herve Leger dress left no doubt that her figure is more voluptuous than she was even one year ago.
"Christina loves her curves," a friend close to Aguilera told RadarOnline. "She is not pregnant! She’s a Latina woman with curves and since when is it not ok to have curves?"
Although she has admitted put on a few pounds, the friend says Aguilera, mother of 3-year-old old son Max, is still proud of her body.
"She feels like she is setting an example for women and young girls, especially Latinas. She’s very proud of her curves. Christina thinks she is a good role model -- not everyone is super skinny and she wants girls to embrace their body type."
Critics have said it's one thing for Christina to gain weight and another for her to flaunt her new figure in form-fitting or even barely there outfits, but Aguilera has told her friends she's not going to change how she dresses.
"It's not what you look like in a dress, it is how you feel and it is about owning your dress. If you want to wear a tight dress then own it. She says you need to be happy in your own skin the way she is happy in hers."
