Christina Aguilera: I Used to Be "Too Thin"

The curvy singer says she's not upset about gaining weight: "I love that now I have a booty"

Christina Aguilera knows her weight has fluctuated since her early days in the music industry, but the pop superstar says she prefers to have a little more curves on her frame.

In the October cover story of Lucky magazine, the Grammy winner opens up about her fuller figure and reveals that despite the occasional (and often snarky) social media swirl her extra curves cause, she loves showing off her voluptuous body.

"The challenge I've always had is being too thin, so I love that now I have a booty," Aguilera explains. "And, obviously, I love showing my cleavage."

And although Aguilera knows her weight gain has been the subject of ridicule, she confesses she doesn't pay attention to the haters. "Hey, if you can work it and you can own it, that confidence is going to shine through," the Voice mentor says.

Aguilera, who's the mother of 4-year-old Max with ex-husband Jordan Bratman, admits she wasn't always secure with her body. "When you're young, it's so easy to get bulldozed," she says. "There were these two ladies who worked at the record label who always wanted to come to fittings and dress me up like a Barbie doll. It was disgusting."

Now dating production assistant Matthew Rutler for two years, Aguilera is thrilled to share her new music with her fans.

"If you love 'Fighter,' you're going to love my new album," she says, referring to her 2002 sophomore album, Stripped. "As a 31-year-old woman, I've been uncovering my independence, and it's been really fun to explore in the new songs."
