Christmas home makeover before & after

Natural trimmings and timeless tradition inspire a scene of warmth in this picturesque country home in the mountains of Tennessee.

The owners of this picturesque Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, home were blessed with high ceilings, a gigantic stone fireplace and a classic country feel. Though Christmas decorating is never completely carefree, the problem decorating this seemingly perfect home for the holidays was its size. By necessity, a very tall tree was needed to draw the eye upward and to bring the ceiling into proportion, with the furniture and decorations below at "ground level." The soaring stone fireplace also needed a very large wreath hung on the stone between the upper windows to balance the holiday decorations down below on the mantel and tabletops. Here's how a magical Christmas feel was created.
