Christmas: Your Christmas planner

  • Check to be sure that you have film and fresh batteries for your camera. Buy any videotape needed.
  • Have a cookie swap. Invite 11 of your friends and ask each to bring 12 dozen cookies, 11 copies of the cookie recipe, as well as an empty container. You will also bake 12 dozen of your favorite holiday cookie. One dozen of each cookie, along with your favorite holiday drinks, will be served at the party. Each friend will fill her empty container, taking home 11 dozen different cookies to her family.
  • Don't wait for Christmas day to take pictures. Begin taking some photos of your family and home now.

Third Week of December

  • Finalize plans for your Christmas dinner.
  • Decorate cookies -- Invite your children's friends over for an afternoon of fun. Let them enjoy making their own creations. Have several colors of frosting and assorted color sprinkles. Use your imagination.
  • Rent a couple of holiday movies, bring out the blankets and pillows and curl up with your family.
  • Assemble any gifts that come unassembled.
  • Make sure you have enough batteries on hand for presents requiring them.
  • Treat yourself to a stress break during this hectic time. Taking time out just for you can make all the difference in the world in the way you feel. You might want to get a haircut, a massage, a manicure or pedicure. Or go out for lunch with a friend and take in a movie. Relax!
