Christopher Schwarzenegger in ICU After Surfing Accident

Arnold Schwarzenegger & Maria Shriver's son is in serious condition after suffering a collapsed lung and broken ribs

Christopher Schwarzenegger, the 13-year-old son of Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger, has been in the intensive care unit of a Los Angeles-area hospital since Sunday, after being seriously injured in a boogie boarding accident in Malibu, Calif.

Christopher suffered a collapsed lung, broken bones and broken ribs in the accident and had been in serious condition -- though TMZ is now reporting that his condition has been upgraded and he will make a full recovery.

That's a huge relief for Shriver, 55, who was with Christopher on the beach when the accident occurred. A source tells People that "Maria has not left (Christopher's) side and is sleeping at the hospital."

Shriver's soon-to-be-ex Arnold Schwarzenegger, 63, has also been a frequent visitor to the hospital. It's nice to see that, despite the recent revelation that Arnold sired an illegitimate son (which then led to Shriver to file for divorce), the family has pulled together in the face of a crisis.

We wish Christopher a speedy recovery.
