The Art of Picking Roles

Student: Jennifer Aniston

Sure, she's America's sweetheart. But apparently that doesn't always translate to box-office bucks. Like The Bounty Hunter and Love Happens before it, Aniston's latest comedy, The Switch, landed with a resounding thud on opening weekend. Seems that the actress's affinity for  romantic comedies -- opposites meant to be together seems to be her formula -- has left audiences feeling less inclined to plunk down their opening weekend dollars. But perhaps a little help from an old Friend, BFF Courteney Cox, will do Jen some good. Next up for the actress is a quick stint as Cox's shrink on Cougar Town. In the meantime, a quick lesson or two in The Art of Picking Roles couldn't hurt, right? How about something with a little bit of edge (like her acclaimed role in the 2002 indie film The Good Girl) -- or a juicy action role? (That'll show those Team Angelina folks!)
