Close-Together Kids

Beth: I agree. I hear my sons talking sometimes. It's so cute. Ben starts with a phtt-phtt noise and then William copies him. Soon I don't know which one I'm hearing…

Terry: You know, you go through the hard part early on, just physically taking care of what you need to. You can't expect to accomplish much the first year but the rewards come when you start seeing them do things together -- not that it's always perfect. (Laughs.)

Michele: Lots of times, Courtney acts like a little mother. If Tristan gets hurt, she runs to get him some juice. Actually, everyone notices my daughter and loves her, which makes me feel kind of bad for Tristan. He's very quiet and shy. I think he's adorable, but people focus on my daughter.

Beth: I feel the same way. William has a very outgoing personality. Ben's still little and he doesn’t seem to get the same kind of attention that William does, and it bothers me somewhat.

Michele: That will probably change as Ben becomes more and more fun to be with though.

Terry: Last weekend, Gil was watching a ball game and his team was losing miserably so I suggested that he, rather than I, take Jack to a puppet show. Jack was thrilled to have one-on-one time with his dad, especially since lately he's started saying he wants Danny to go away. Sometimes I want so much to tell Jack we had another baby for his sake -- but he's too young to understand.

Michele: My older sister was kind of mean to me when we were growing up. Now she apologizes and we're really, really close. She's in banking, so I keep giving her money and telling her to make it grow. I'm scared to death to have three in college.
