Go for it -- unless your hair is damaged or very dry, it should stand up reasonably well to any type of process. If you color at home, remember that the healthier your hair (especially if it's straight), the longer it will take dyes to sink in. Conversely, curly or wavy hair tends to be somewhat more porous than straight, so it absorbs dyes more quickly. Always do a strand test to get the timing right.
