Remember the last time you ate a meal that made you feel like you were wrapped in a warm, cozy blanket? Perhaps it was a meal eaten with your family and close friends. Or, it may have just been a snack eaten all alone after one of those days that never seems to end.
It’s no secret that soul-satisfying foods can help soothe your frazzled nerves and soften the edges of a raw day. Comfort foods can connect us to our past, bringing back memories of times shared with those we love.
When I think of comfort foods I think of homemade chicken noodle soup or beef stew, biscuits hot from the oven and dripping with butter, creamy rice pudding with plump raisins and hot tea. Not exactly diet fare, but old-fashioned salve for my soul.
