Conan O'Brien's big night finally came, as the funnyman took to his coveted place on the Tonight Show stage for the very first time.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is a huge night for me. I remember watching Johnny Carson when I was a kid and thinking, 'That's what I wanna be when I grow up,'" he told his audience. "I'm sure right now, somewhere in America, there's a little kid watching me thinking -- What is wrong with that man's hair? Is that even a man? Why is she crying."
This is why Conan got the gig from Jay Leno -- because he's funny and endearing and, gosh darnnit, people like him!
Adding to the laughs was Conan's first guest, Land of the Lost's Will Ferrell, who gave the host some tips about living in L.A. Will told the Cali newbie that there was a great burger joint in South Pasadena called Burger King, and the LAPD are so nice they will let you borrow their gun for a day.
Funny stuff. Congrats, Conan!
