Conan Gives a Blow-by-Blow of the Blow to His Head

Conan O'Brien was back in action last night after last week's onset concussion scare. And, of course, he was in good humor about the accident that resulted in Friday's show being canceled.

Not only did Conan give a blow-by-blow account of the stunt that involved Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher and a helmet-free fall on the hard floor of the Tonight Show set, but he joked that if the Monday-night audience was good, he'd do it again. He added that the audience should "tune in tomorrow when Eva Longoria pushes me down an elevator shaft. It's going to be sexy."

The show included a previously unavailable clip of the accident, which he played in gruesome slow-motion. After the spill, he says he saw stars, and "for five seconds I actually understood the plot of Lost".

Conan's star guest for the night was Drew Barrymore, who looked stunning in a strapless, fitted champagne dress. She arrived onstage with a gift for the host: a protective helmet not unlike the one she wears in her new roller-derby movie, Whip It.

Drew boasted that she does her own stunts, and admitted that she, too took a pretty gruesome fall on the rink, which resulted in her seeing cartoon birds just like the ones in animated Looney Tunes shows.

The actress also shared that at age 7, when she had her very first appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, she had a nasty spill as she made her entrance -- something she regards as a badge of honor.

"If you don't eat it coming out, it's all uphill from there," Drew said.
