Adam Levine may have just called it quits with his model ex-girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna, but he's got a high-profile new gig in the works. The Maroon 5 frontman has confirmed rumors that he's set to appear on FX's hit paranormal series, American Horror Story.
"It is the truth," Levine, 33, told E! News host Ryan Seacrest. "I don't know how much I can divulge, because [series co-creator] Ryan [Murphy] is very under wraps."
The judge on NBC's reality competition The Voice adds that Murphy is "really great." He says: "And I love the fact that he believes in me to throw me out there."
The role would mark Levine's scripted debut (not counting when he's played himself). According to E!, he will play one half of a couple called "The Lovers." Since as Levine pointed out, Murphy keeps his story lines close to the vest, not much is known about the characters or the new season's twists and turns.
Despite his lack of screen experience, Levine is eager to join the esteemed cast that includes Academy and Emmy Award winner Jessica Lange.
"It's going to be fun," says Levine. "I told [Murphy] I really didn't know what I was doing, but he didn't seem to really care. … I think I'm going to be kind of playing myself, so hopefully it will be easy."
American Horror Story returns with its second season this fall on FX.
