We've been there before. Your friend pulls out his/her iPhone/Droid/BlackBerry/actual camera, points it at you, and you cheese hard for about 7 or 8 seconds before the giggles of those around you confirm what you've begun to suspect: That's no picture being taken. That's a video.
Mayor of Awkward: In the house.
The only difference with this video is that the college students partying were never told they were going to have their picture taken, they just saw a camera set up and assumed it was taking candid shots of them. Instead, it was taping.
The results were awkwardly hilarious. Like the couple at 0:45 who so badly wanted a snap to remember this glow-themed(?) party. Then of course there are the super funny moments like at 1:10 when a girl ostensibly spends 14 seconds breathing on the cheek of the guy she's with, because candid shots take planning.
In fairness to the very first guy in the video, he might not be posing. Based on the way he's staring, it might just be the first time he's ever seen a camera.
