Canola oil:
A flavorless oil with a high smoke point, it is ideal for everything from frying to sauteing to salad dressings. "Canola" is a made-up word meaning "Canada oil," as Canada was the first manufacturer of this oil from the rapeseed plant. It is lower in saturated fat than any other oil, is second in monounsaturated fats (next to olive oil), and contains heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids.
