Why we love it: These handmade dishes are a beautifully unique holiday gift for the accessory-lovers in your life.
What you need: White air dry clay; metallic copper (or any metallic color) Sharpie or copper leaf; sizing; a paint brush; and sealer.
How to make it: Roll out a long snake of clay about 3/8 of an inch thick. Coil the long snake into a bowl shape. Smooth out the inside and outside of the bowl. Gently pinch the sides of the bowl to smooth out the edges. The outside walls of the clay will begin to form a dish shape. Continue pinching and thinning until the clay is less than 1/8 of an inch thick. Let the dish dry according to the clay’s directions on the packaging. Once the clay has completely dried, color the outside rim with the metallic sharpie. Apply the sizing, and then the sealant.
