After enduring the difficulties of a long-distance relationship with Broadway actor Theo Stockman, Lea Michele has moved on to someone a little more local. And the actress is reportedly thrilled that her new beau, Glee costar Cory Monteith, is someone she gets to see every day.
"They had a great little quick trip in New York," a source tells Us Weekly of the primetime costars, who were photographed cozying up around Manhattan last weekend. "Lea didn't want to be away from him for just those few days."
Michele, 25, and Monteith, 29 -- who play high-school sweethearts Rachel and Finn -- just went public with their Gleektastic relationship in February, although an insider insists "they've been hooking up for a while."
According to a source, being with her close friend-turned-boyfriend has been life-changing for Michele, who even visited her Canadian beau's hometown of Vancouver on Feb. 25.
"Cory is definitely having a positive effect on Lea. She's much less miserable these days," the source tells Us. "Even when she was with Theo, she was always depressed being so far away from him and not getting to see him. She likes having someone with her that's actually there. Long distance is not her thing."
