Costume Choice: Homemade (i.e., Ghost, Nerd, Hobo, Witch)

Date Decoder: While homemade may signify “I ran out of time and this was the best I could do,” a self-created costume can also mean your date is cheap (i.e. don’t expect deep pockets, ladies). Plus, says Angela Tucker, C.H.B.C. expert personality profiler and founder of PersonalityProfiles.org, homemades may also be indecisive, stubborn or procrastinators – in other words, they waited so long to make a costume decision that they had to just throw something together.

After the Costume Comes Off: They’ll not only expect you to understand their thriftiness, they’ll want you to participate in it (“Let’s go Dutch” may be their mantra). “And because they have trouble making even small decisions, you’ll need to be able to handle the fact that they prefer to put things off rather than getting them done right away,” says Tucker.
