Could Ryan Seacrest be eyeing a move from American Idol's main stage to the judges' table? According to a source for E! News, when Simon Cowell leaves his chair empty at the end of this season, Seacrest may just fill his seat.
"Anything is possible," says an Idol insider. "Stay tuned."
So, what does Cowell think of the possibility of his hit show's 35-year-old host replacing him as a judge? Well, he's on board!
"You just literally jump from your stage, onto the judging chair, and that way you get an extra job," Cowell joked in a radio interview with Seacrest. "See, I'm thinking of you, even in my darkest moments."
Whatever happens when the cranky Brit departs Idol, Cowell told his pal, "Good news for you -- when I’m not on the show, you'll get to be more involved, Ryan, and I think that’s a positive thing. You’ll definitely get more airtime."
There's been no official comment from Seacrest or Fox on the rumors.
