Could your toddler be teething?

My daughter is two years old. She has recently started chewing on everything she picks up as if she is teething again. She got her first tooth at three months and now has a mouthful. Is it possible that she is getting another tooth at this age?

Question:

Children normally have 20 primary (baby) teeth total, Ten in the upper jaw and ten in the lower jaw. If all 20 have not erupted yet, a new tooth at this age is the best explanation for her excessive chewing behavior. Otherwise, maybe she's just interested in trying out her new complete set of teeth or perhaps she is going through a growth spurt and is particularly hungry.
