Courtney Love should know better than to start another fight on Twitter -- but then, Courtney Love should know better than to do a lot of things. On Tuesday night, the Hole singer hopped onto her private Twitter account to vent her anger at former Nirvana drummer and current Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl. Courtney claims that Grohl, 43, seduced her estranged daughter, 19-year-old Frances Bean Cobain -- a claim that Grohl vehemently denies.
"I hear from frannies roommate that @davegrohl hit on frances, and that she was curious, I'm not mad at her, him I am about to shoot, dead," Love, 47, tweeted on Tuesday.
During her rant (reprinted by Gawker), Love said that her suspicions about Frances and Dave were confirmed by three people, including a hired driver who said that Grohl "had his hands all over her" in his car. Courtney clarified that she wasn't mad at Frances, only at her husband's former bandmate.
"If Bean did have sex with Dave Grohl which I've now heard reliable sources and a driver 3rd time, its fine on her part, he's insane," Love wrote. "It could be a rumor the actual sex and its not beans fault she's not slutty in any way, at all, HES OBSESSED."
Love also tweeted that Grohl "tried to f*** me a lot" during their Nirvana days, and that he was "sexually obsessed" with her late husband, Kurt Cobain.
Naturally, Dave Grohl was a little upset by these accusations.
"Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful Twitter rant," the drummer said in a statement. "These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue."
In case it wasn't obvious, there is no love lost between Love and Grohl, who have been at odds ever since a 2001 legal battle over the rights and publication of Kurt Cobain's songs. She has previously accused Grohl of kicking Kurt Cobain out of Nirvana when he was alive, and trying to steal her family's money by profiting off Nirvana's legacy. In fact, she's still accusing him of that: In a Wednesday interview with the New York Daily News, she blasts Grohl for allowing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to be sung by Kermit in The Muppets.
"We got no money from The Muppets, we got nothing," Love complained. "It made Jason Segel feel special, but Dave knows Kurt wouldn't have wanted to be a Muppet."
As for Dave's denial that he hit on Frances Bean? Love isn't buying it.
"Bulls***," she told the Daily News. "Dave's a piece of s***, but he's a really good drummer. You can quote me on that."
Courtney Love may not believe Dave Grohl, but she won't be getting the real scoop from her own daughter; she has been under court order not to see Frances Bean since 2009. In her court testimony, Cobain accused Love of being a drug addict who behaved erratically and expressed constant paranoia. After all of Courtney's crazy tweeting, we're surprised Frances hasn't asked the judge to add a "no Twitter" clause to the arrangement...
