Horrible Boss Alert? Courtney Love Is Sued by Former Assistant

The singer's former employee claims the she "acted with an improper and evil motive"

Courtney Love should probably not expect a "greatest boss ever" mug any time soon.

The singer's former assistant -- who was on Love's staff for a year -- filed a lawsuit against the controversial Hole frontwoman on Tuesday, claiming Love "acted with an improper and evil motive amounting to malice or despicable conduct."

E! News reports that in the lawsuit plaintiff Jessica Labrie states she was hired in June 2010 to be Love's administrative assistant and "forensic research aide" for $30 an hour -- and things apparently went south rather quickly afterward.

Labrie alleges that Love made her work more than 60 hours a week without paying overtime; that she asked her to hire a computer hacker and directed her to send fake legal correspondence; that she promised to pay for Labrie's Yale tuition but never did; and that Love promised her bonuses and a job on the set of a Nirvana biopic, but neither occurred.

A rep for Love, 48, hasn't responded yet to the lawsuit or any of its many accusations.

Love's former assistant also maintains that she repeatedly questioned the "Celebrity Skin" singer's questionable and unethical decisions and that in June 27, 2011, she was forced to resign with Love owing her more than $2000 in wages.

Labrie claims the job caused her to suffer from headaches, insomnia, anxiety and depression. She is seeking unspecified damages, alleged wrongful termination, failure to pay wages and overtime, negligent misrepresentation, breach of contract and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
