Say good-bye to CourtTV, at least in name anyway. The network is trying to rebrand itself and has adopted the name truTV to do so.
“The success of the Turner Entertainment Networks can be attributed in a big way to the fact that we have built strong brands that resonate with viewers,” said Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks. “With this new name, truTV joins its sister networks TNT, TBS and TCM in establishing itself a solid, identifiable brand, paving the way for continued growth.”
Ummm, okay. Last time I checked CourtTV was already a fairly identifiable brand, and somehow I don't think changing the name to something weird like truTV is going to help but sure, why not. Maybe they can have Star Jones be the face of the new brand, too. That'll totally work.
