Not everyone’s Valentine’s Day was rosy and romantic -- last week Elaine Cook of Skokie, Illinois was arrested after allegedly biting off a large piece of her boyfriend's tongue following a fight, according to NBC News. Eek! In an effort to resolve their dispute, the boyfriend, who prefers to remain anonymous, leaned in to kiss-and-makeup with horrifying results. While he and Cook’s roommate tried to save the severed tongue by placing it in a bag with ice, due to inadequate blood supply doctors could not reattach the tongue. Cook was arrested and will face criminal charges despite her lover’s mixed feelings about the whole ordeal. Boy, love really does hurt.
