Remember who shot J.R.? No worries if you don't … the Texas oilman is still so wily that it probably won't be long before someone plots to do it again, in TNT's much-anticipated new Dallas series. Emmy nominee Larry Hagman reprises his role as J.R. Ewing, the scheming eldest son of the Ewing Oil company family, and while the original Dallas series revolved around J.R.'s ongoing battle for control of Ewing Oil with his kinder, gentler brother Bobby (original series star Patrick Duffy), the next generation is joining in the family feudin' on TNT.
Bobby's son Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe) has his dad's temperament, while J.R.'s son John Ross (Josh Henderson) has his dad's scheming mind. The cousins, like their fathers, are at odds with each other -- Christopher wants to focus the fam business on green energies, while John Ross wants to drill for oil on Southfork -- and that's only going to get more dramatic as they become romantic rivals, too. Elena Ramos (Jordana Brewster) used to be Christopher's fiancée … now she's John Ross' girlfriend.
If that's conjuring up memories of '80s-style drama, this will be even more exciting: joining Hagman and Duffy from the original cast will be Linda Gray as J.R.'s ex, Sue Ellen, and Ken Kercheval as Ewing rival (and Bobby's former brother-in-law) Cliff Barnes.
