Back Again in 2010: 'Dance Your Ass Off'

Despite breaking the cardinal rule of TV -- Don't use a swear word in your show’s title -- the Oxygen channel's Dance Your Ass Off was the most watched freshman series in the network's history. So it's no surprise that the weight loss/dance competition will be back for a second season, airing in 2010.

In case you missed the show when it premiered last summer, it's basically a cross between So You Think You Can Dance and The Biggest Loser. In season one, 12 full-figured finalists paired up with professional dancers and performed weekly routines, ranging from hip hop to ballroom. They were judged (and narrowed down) by both weight loss and dance moves.

By the finale, the contestants had boogied off a collective 500 pounds. (Ruben Permel, the winner, lost 74.) Whether all the weight technically came off of rear ends wasn't stipulated, but that's really just a quibble.

Casting for the new season is currently underway.
