Dancing with the Stars Week 6 Results: Say What?

Since the news came out about Sara Evans' withdrawal from the show, there has been a lot of speculation about how they'd deal with her absence. Would they bring back a couple that had been voted out or would the show absorb the loss in some other way, perhaps with more group freestyles? Perhaps they'd bring back Rod Stewart to dance around while letting it all hang out? Many of our commenters had their own theories and suggestions, but in the end, after all of the jacked up suspense, the coy references by hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris and the outtakes of the studio audience's reactions to the performances ... the couple that ended up leaving the ballroom was ... NO ONE. Come again? That's right, the show decided it wouldn't be fair to send someone else home this week. So what happens now? The votes and judges' scores will roll over to be combined with next week's numbers, so every vote and score this week will still count. Well hallelujah for that. Otherwise, I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, I suppose it does seem fair -- on the other, well, couldn't they have just told us that last night? I would have still tuned in to hear Lionel Richie, really I would have. Speaking of Lionel ... how much better did he look than Rod Stewart? His voice is still smooth and strong as well and I think this was one of the best musical appearances of the season. Richie sang the always fun "All Night Long" (all night!) while professional dancers Tony, Elena, Maksim and Karina took the floor to party, karamu, fiesta, forever -- ok, only until the end of the song. Later Lionel came back to perform a new song from his latest album "Coming Home", and I found that quite good as well.
