After Tuesday's lineup of performances, judges gone mad and diva drama, I was almost afraid to tune into the results show. I think I'm going to need therapy after watching judge Len Goodman froth at the mouth all night. But I just can't stay away, especially when there is tango involved. Yesterday's poll put Willa Ford and Jerry Springer as your top picks to leave the ballroom, but I guess I got the answer to my question "Is anyone out there rooting for Harry?" Apparently not, because he was the next star to be shown the door. Yes, Harry Hamlin and partner Ashly DelGrosso have danced their last dance. I can't say I'm too surprised or sad about it -- although I did feel bad for Ashly as she teared up. Too bad Harry didn't have half her personality. Or a personality at all. And -- am I the only one secretly happy that (hopefully) Hamlin will be taking wife Lisa Rinna with him as he goes? Maybe I'm still harboring unresolved bitterness over Rinna's portrayal of Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives; we all know that Hope is the only true soulmate for Bo. Ahem.
As for the rest of the show: Vivica and Nick were picked for the encore performance and danced their tango as Vivica once again assumed the role of Dorothy Dandridge. To me, she seemed more like a drag queen and I kind of tuned out the encore. Rude, I know. Glam rockers Scissor Sisters were the first musical act of the evening, backing professional dancers Cheryl Burke and Jesse DeSoto as they mamboed to "Take Your Mama". Actually I'm not sure that they did the mambo -- can someone confirm? I missed the intro to this as I was helping myself to some ice cream. Because what goes better with ballroom dancing than butter pecan?
